Yousra Elbagir is an award-winning journalist currently working as a foreign affairs correspondent for Channel 4 News.

As a reporter and writer, Yousra works to push counter-narratives to the forefront of international media & engage young audiences through innovative storytelling. Her work has been featured on HBO, Channel 4, BBC Africa, BBC Radio 4, CNN, The Financial Times, The Guardian and many more.

Born in Sudan, Yousra is fluent in Arabic and English. Graduating from the University of St. Andrews, with a MA (Hons) in Social Anthropology.

As a Freelance Correspondent, for Vice News Tonight on HBO she has covered stories including a child gambling crisis in Kenya, Russia’s first gay married couple seeking asylum in the Netherlands, riots over social media tax in Uganda and Israel’s deported African migrants. ..

While covering these stories Yousra is heavily involved in the creative process making sure her style and vision is geared towards authentic storytelling for a young, engaged and relevant audience.
