Melanie Sykes

Melanie Skyes is currently filming the new series of Channel 4’s The Great Pottery Throw Down. With a passion for the arts, Melanie joins as host, alongside returning judge Keith Brymer Jones and new judge Sue Pryke. Melanie is enjoying filming in Stoke on Trent, which has taken her back to her northern roots. The show will air next year on Channel 4 and More4.

Melanie can often be heard on Radio 2 co-hosting with Alan Carr. The pair have great chemistry, having worked together for over 10 years. Melanie recently paired up with Paul O'Grady to voice C5's revamped Blind Date, as well as ITVBe's hugely successful Sam and Billie: The Mummy Diaries...

Born in Mossley, Manchester, Melanie had firmly established herself as a successful model by the time she was 19, doing numerous catwalk shows, magazine fashion shoots and television commercials. Melanie’s first major break in television came fronting the Boddingtons beer commercial.

Melanie’s move into TV, led to a number of high profile live presenting roles including signing a two-year deal with The Big Breakfast (C4) co-hosting Today with Des and Mel (ITV) with Des O'Connor, and co-hosting with Gino D’Acampo for Let’s Do Lunch with Gino and Mel (ITV). The show featured Gino preparing various dishes whilst Mel took the reins on presenting and chatting to celebrity guests about their latest projects.
