Kamal Ibrahim is a Television Broadcaster and multi-disciplined adventurer from Limerick. Born in Ireland, he spent his early years growing up in Nigeria before returning to Limerick with his family when he was eight. He holds an ICM Diploma in Journalism.
Kamal began working as a model in 2005 and soon became a favourite in the professional modeling circuit in Ireland. In 2009 he was invited to enter the Mr Ireland competition, run by the Miss World Organization. Kamal won the contest becoming Mr Ireland 2009. He went on to represent Ireland at Mr World, the world’s largest ‘boot camp style’ contest. Out of the 74 countries that took part, Kamal placed first and was crowned Mr World. The competition was televised to an audience of over one billion viewers throughout Asia, the Americas and Europe. Kamal spent the next two years traveling the world as a global ambassador for the competition before going on to co-host the 2012 contest with Mylene Klass. Proving a success, the pair were asked to host Miss World the following year.

Additionally, he was an Online Quiz Show Host at Gold Rush TV and co-presented the Variety Telethon which aired on ABC, CH5 in the USA.
In January 2013, Kamal joined RTÉ’s new National Lottery presenting team and has been part of the line up ever since. Last summer he took part in Celebrity Masterchef Ireland, again on RTÉ. He also co-hosted a six-part documentary series, In Your Shoes, on RTÉ Two which saw teenagers of differing physical abilities take on a range of challenges.
An all round action man, Kamal previously spent 9 years in the Reserve Defense forces in Ireland, holds a skydiving ‘C’ license (with over 200 jumps to his name) and has had a private pilot’s license since the age of 19. He also enjoys Kite Surfing and has a PADI divers license, completing the scuba rescue divers course in the process. He holds a Fetac Level 6 certificate in Sports Nutrition.
