AJ Odudu is one of the UK’s most exciting TV presenters, with bags of energy and her Lancashire charm. Born to Nigerian parents, AJ grew up with her seven siblings in Blackburn and has a degree in English & Politics. She’s made a name for herself over the years, fronting a number of successful programmes and has become one of the nation’s most recognisable broadcasters.
Most recently, AJ is the co-host of The Big Breakfast alongside comedian Mo Gilligan, which returned to TV screens this August for a four-part series after it was rebooted in 2021 for a one-off special for Channel 4’s Black to Front takeover. AJ has been announced as the host of brand-new hairstyling competition series The Big Blow Out which comes to E4 and All 4 later this year. And following the triumph of the previous series, she is back fronting the UK’s Married at First Sight spin-off show, Married at First Sight: After Party – a weekly instalment of behind-the-scenes gossip, cast interviews and celebrity guests. She is also the host of The Bridge, an eight-part high-stakes adventure show based in Vietnam out on HBO Max and Channel 4.
Career highlights for AJ include taking part in Strictly Come Dancing in 2021 on the BBC, where she reached the final but was unable to compete any further due to a foot injury. She thrilled audiences each week with her jaw-dropping moves and infectious personality. AJ has also taken part in numerous recent events, including acting as the UK spokesperson at the Eurovision Song Contest 2022 and making history announcing the Jury votes live from Salford for the first time ever, co-hosting Jools Holland’s Raise the Roof concert alongside Jim Moir (a.k.a. Vic Reeves) in aid of Prostate Cancer UK, and presenting the BAFTA Film 2022 Red Carpet show with Tom Allen.
Previously, AJ was ITV’s backstage host for The Voice & The Voice Kids, has shown off her culinary skills on ITV’s Cooking With the Stars, hosted ITV2's Apocalypse Wow and starred alongside Emma Willis in Emma and AJ Get to Work, a UKTV Original series for W. She’s also fronted ITV's Don’t Rock the Boat alongside Freddie Flintoff, reached the final of the notoriously tough Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins on Channel 4 for Stand Up to Cancer and presented on ITV's Lorraine, This Morning and BBC's The One Show, as well as the red carpet for the BRITS and TV BAFTA Awards 2021.
Her love of writing has seen her write emotive articles on issues of relevance including Black Lives Matter for publications such as Vogue and Grazia. She is currently a Contributing Editor for Grazia UK.
After buying her first property in 2019, AJ decided to document her DIY renovations on her home-specific Instagram channel @homewithaj. This has led to an army of fans in the lifestyle and interior design space, with the likes of Harper’s Bazaar UK championing her eye for detail in the home. A qualified personal trainer and sports nutritionist, AJ has a huge passion for health and fitness. She has twice graced the front cover of Women’s Health Magazine in May 2021 and May 2022 respectively and has contributed as Fitness Insider for the Evening Standard. With her down to earth nature and loyal fan base, she has had a variety of successful brand campaigns including Adidas, Visit England, John Lewis, Bumble, L’Oreal and The Perfume Shop.
