Ace

Showreel

Summer 2018 saw Ace present No Waste Man for BBC Radio 1 Stories in which he challenged himself to a week completely waste-free, in a world where attitudes have shifted in the wake of Blue Planet 2.

Currently Ace can be heard on his own daytime show every weekday morning on BBC Radio 1Xtra.  He also hosts Everything RNB on 1xtra, a weekly Thursday specialist R&B show.

Ace recently gained unprecedented access to heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua during a pre-fight trim in his local barbers – set to form part of Ace’s new series with the BBC In The Barbers Chair.

Ace’s career started at the world-renowned Brit Performing Arts School.  He and his then partner in troublemaking, Vis, were signed up by the brand new digital radio station, BBC Radio 1Xtra. Their ground-breaking lunchtime show achieved cult status, gaining them an acclaimed Sony Gold award.

Their progression in radio was quick to follow – onto the acclaimed drive time slot and their own show on Radio 1 – every Friday night.

The duos penchant for cheekiness and troublemaking awarded them the task of hosting The MOBO’s, fronting cult music and lifestyle programme The Illout Show on Channel AKA and hosting shows for MTV including specials from Japan, New York & Jamaica, featuring the likes of Wiley, Kano, T.I. and Estelle...

It wasn’t long before the demand for Ace’s DJ skills started racking up with gigs in Dubai, Ibiza and Ayia Napa, as well as supporting A-list artists on tour such as The Game, Snoop Dog, Tyga, Trey Songz, 50 Cent, Lil Kim and Nelly.

He also co-created and hosts the popular online show Cut the Chat, which has been described as “Loose Women” for men. Recent Guests have included Ed Sheeran, Ghetts, Donaeo, Adam Deacon, Big Narstie, and DJ Spooney.

Ace’s passion for WWE wrestling has seen him fly to Atlanta and Miami on different occasions to cover the prestigious Wrestlemania events. He’s interviewed top WWE wrestlers such as Stone Cold Steve Austin, Randy Orton, The Rock and Shawn Michaels.  You can catch the latest via Ace’s Wrestling podcast series The Kick Out.

In January 2017 DJ Ace was awarded his own daytime show on BBC Radio 1Xtra, taking over from Trevor Nelson hosting weekday mornings on the flagship UK youth digital network. . He also brings the latest movie releases in Film Fridays.
