Michelle de Swarte

Michelle De Swarte can currently be found on BBC3’s current affairs debate show, ‘Free Speech’. The interactive format has a 12 month run, seeing one live debate per month. Michelle controls all the viewer’ssocial media activity alongside her co-host Jake Humpheries.

 

Exploding on to the fashion scene at the age of 19, Michellewas model scouted whilst working in a pub and withina week was booked for Harpers Bazaar with fashion photographer Nathaniel Goldberg. She quickly graced the catwalks of all the major fashion houses round the world and now combines her modelling work with TV presenting and most excitingly stand-up comedy. Michelle is an engaging presence on stage, her irrepressible beauty and frank attitude has the crowd instantly enticed into hysterics making her debut Edinburgh this summer an eagerly anticipated one..

 

The end of 2011 saw Michelle host E4’s satirical celeb roast ‘Dirty Digest’, of which Michelle co-created the format.Michelle kept a troupe of comedians in line while they broke down the biggest celeb news stories of the week. Prior to this show, Michelle earnt her stripes co-hosting fashion items ITV’s ‘The Fashion Show” alongside Abbey Clancy and George Lamb.Her love for live work was realised in 2011 when the BBC filmed the UK’s first ever 24-hour panel show for Comic Relief entitled Panel People, hosted by David Walliams. Streamed live online around the world, Michelle presented alongside Tom Deacon for 8 hours,interviewingguests, introducing items and reacting to the live donation updates.Michelle's presenting ability shone through and her unique style thrived in the live environment.

 

Michelle hosted the Vinspired National Awardswith fellow comedian Eddie Kadi in March 2011. The awardsare the largest national event of its kind to celebrate youth volunteering across England and saw performances from Natasha Beddingfield, Wretch 32, The Rock Choir and The Movement Factory.In 2009 Michelle presented the live transmission of the Guinness Arthur'sDaycelebrations and also became a panelist for I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here Now on ITV2, where she was introduced to entertainment agent John Noel.

 

2010 saw Michelle make coneieve and shoot her own documentary tacklingthe subject of mixed races and how people identify with it. Inspired and narrated by her ownexperiences, Michelle met well known faces from around the world and reflects on their opinions. She comfortably and effortlessly interviewed stars from the sport, entertainment and fashion worlds,delving into their life experiences and producing a thought provoking insight.
