Laura Jackson

Laura is currently the main presenter for the virgin.com music show Red Room. Laura hosted the launch of the programme, has been able to interview a huge number of high profile music acts and she was also reported from backstage at V festival.

Born and raised in Huddersfield, Laura is young, fun and down to earth allowing audiences and interviewees to instantly warm to her, and, although she is only 24 she already has a wealth of live and studio presenting experience.

Laura’s presenting career got off to a cracking start. She cut her teeth on Channel 4’s music show Freshly Squeezed, and went on to co-present with Simon Bird from backstage at the Wireless Festival for the festival sponsors, Barclaycard. As the main interviewer, Laura conducted some great interviews with Snoop Dogg, Beth Ditto and Slash to name just a few.

As a girl who has a huge interest in fashion Laura was a clear choice to host the Style Stage at Clothes Show Live in Birmingham and Clothes Show London and also to present the Best Dressed Male Award at The Style Awards. For the past couple of years Laura has been the backstage reporter at London Fashion Week, chatting to designer’s and top models for the live stream on the official website. Laura was the red carpet presenter at The Brits 2010 for the War Child website where she interviewed the likes of Kasabian, Calvin Harris and La Roux. With her strong live experience Laura is not fazed by high profile interviews and was asked to host the Colin Farrell junket for T4 and also to take over as the VT Presenter on Celebrity Big Brother’s Little Brother on E4. Amongst other project’s Laura was also the co-presenter for a new music show on the Playstation Channel and for Diesel U Music.

Laura’s beautiful looks and vibrant persona have made her a model in high demand. She has been the face of many brands for commercials, been involved in many high profile music videos, hosted lots of fashion events and modelled various products. Laura is currently the face of the new PPQ/OFFICE shoe range.

Being a northern lass, Laura’s accent is very easy on the ear and she is currently the female continuity voice of the 4Music channel and also features on the widely shown Foxy Bingo commercial.

Laura graduated from the University of Greenwich with a BA Honours in Events Management, she has a BTEC (distinction) in Dance, Lighting, sound, production and set design training and also is a graduate of Sylvia Young summer school.

In her spare time Laura enjoys socialising, yoga, reading, travelling and has a big interest in food!
